Masterclass Review: How to Build Your Brand

How do you create something that people fall in love with?

This was the challenge in “How to Build your Brand”, a masterclass given by Michael Murdoch of The House, at the Museum of Brands on 10 December 2018.

In the 2nd event curated by Stephanie Gray, Learning Officer, and kindly supported by The Marketors’ Trust, participants from start-ups to corporates were shown how to create a succinct brand message.

Michael and his colleague walked the group through all aspects of the marketing mix and looked at examples including Apple and Airbnb.

The Story Cube was introduced as a device to help create a compelling narrative, and The House duo concluded the evening with a Q&A and an online link to resources.

So how do you get people to fall in love with your brand?

It seems brands are no different to us humans: it’s all about the emotional connection.
