Women in Advertising
This short film showcases ten well-known TV ads from the past 50 years, examining how gender stereotypes in advertising have evolved.
Narrated and created by Lindsey Clay, CEO of Thinkbox, the film features advertising campaigns including the Fairy Liquid advertisement from the 60s, showing a mother and daughter and the famous catchphrase “For hands that do dishes that are soft as your face – mild green Fairy Liquid”, P&G’s (2004) Always Like a Girl campaign and Sport England’s (2015) This Girl Can campaign which showed women of all shapes and sizes exercising and playing sport.
The film was produced in 2017 by Thinkbox the marketing body for commercial television in the UK.
