Smoothie Lab Workshop

Hands-on product development workshop, in partnership with innocent. 

Developed in partnership with innocent, Smoothie Lab is an interactive 2-hour workshop designed to explore the fundamentals of product development, whilst analysing brand strategy and learning about nutrition.  

Using innocent drinks as a case study, students analyse packaging, marketing, and branding strategies to identify their key USPs and understand how successful brands influence customer behaviour. 

In this fun and fast-paced challenge, students work in teams to develop a new product concept for innocent. Students must consider their customer’s needs, and work together to create a cohesive concept, choose and cost ingredients, and calculate profit margins. They will then design packaging, working out a strong visual identity in line with innocent’s brand, and consider advertising and PR hooks. During the workshop, students will also get the opportunity to explore the Museum’s Time Tunnel or Branding Hall to hunt for a product to fit their customer’s unmet need.   

At the end of the workshop, each team must present their pitch to the class. The winning team will get the chance to blend their smoothie for everyone to taste-test!

Information for bookers

The session runs for 2 hours and includes a walkthrough of the Time Tunnel depending on availability. 

Sessions run Monday – Friday with start times flexible between 10am and 3pm.   

For Secondary groups, the cost for one session is £250 for 25 students and 3 teachers. For Universities it is £300 for 15 students and 3 adults. For SEND or community groups, the workshop is adapted to last 1.5 hours and costs £125 for SEND schools and £95 for community groups. All prices includes entry to our Museum.

A 50% discount is available if more that 25% of your students are eligible for Pupil Premium or Free School Meals. A 10% discount is available for organisations located within Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster, and Hammersmith & Fulham.
